ReplyDeleteAwesome. I'm loving this "to-do" series. They serve as good adventure inspiration. e.g What should my 5th level dwarf be doing today?
ReplyDeleteMe too, Folly. I love em for when you encounter a leveled NPC, it's now pretty easy to figure out who they are, what they are up to, what their goals/ambitions are. It makes it SUPER easy to make even random NPC encounters loop back into the game later in a meaningful way. "Last time we met this guy he was X, things have changed, and now he's a badass doing Y, so it's a good thing he owes you a favor from when you helped him out way back." To me, that's the biggest benefit - now it's real easy to go back through the roster of previously meaningful NPCs and easily figure out what happened next, where things moved, and in a way that actually can have a meaningful effect on the whole game setting. And I love that it's straight from the rules, just never ever been organized in this way. Who knew OD&D had "paths" all along? :)
